Since Trex came to Canada, Your Deck Company has worked closely with the people at Trex. We have experienced the evolution of Trex over the years and seen the amazing product advancements as well as product additions. Your Deck Company has been trained on and installed every product that Trex has to offer. During the evolution of Trex, products like Trex Elevations steel framing were created. Trex Elevations is a replacement to using traditional Pressure Treated wood as the structure of your deck. Due to the long lasting nature of the Trex Decking and Railing products, it only made sense to have a deck structure that would last equally as long.

When you daydream about your dream deck, chances are you haven’t given much thought to what lies beneath it. Even though your deck’s substructure may not make the family photos, it’s actually the most important part of your new outdoor space. Trex Elevations has durable triple-coated steel beams, joists and tracks to create the strongest, straightest and, yes, greenest structures down below. Your Deck Company is your Trex Elevations steel frame specialist. We are the largest installer of Trex products in Ontario, Canada and have an unmatched level of experience using Trex and Trex Elevations steel deck framing.

  • Is Trex Elevations more expensive than wood?

Yes. Trex Elevations steel framing is a more expensive product to use than traditional wood framing. It takes longer to install and the parts are more expensive than traditional Pressure Treated wood framing. With that, consider that a traditional wood deck structure will generally last between 20 and 30 years. Factors such as how close is your deck to the ground, your deck is facing north and gets little sun, damp environments and termites will all affect the expected life span of a traditional Pressure Treated wood deck structure. Whereas Trex Elevations is not affected by those issues and can easily last double or triple the life span of a wood deck structure. Considering that the life span of your deck could be increased by at least 20 years, the additional cost of Trex Elevations steel framing seems negligible.

  • Can I still use Trex Rain Escapes?

Yes, Trex Elevations is fully compatible with the Trex Rain Escapes system. At Your Deck Company, we have installed countless projects using the two products together.

  • Does Your Deck Company have experience with Trex Elevations?

Although it is not used as often as traditional wood, Trex Elevations is an excellent long lasting choice for the structure of your deck.

  • Will Trex Elevations deteriorate like wood?

No. Trex Elevations steel framing has an unparalleled three layers of protection surrounding a carbon steel core, ensuring each critical joist, beam and ledger connection holds up to the elements for decades, with a 25-Year Limited Residential Warranty to prove it. And, unlike our interior-grade steel competitors, Elevations is the ONLY one code-listed for exterior use, supported by the CCRR0186 code compliance research report.

  • Can my entire deck be framed with Trex Elevations?

Yes. We can use Trex Elevations for every part of your deck structure. We can install the support posts, deck stairs, beams and joists using Trex Elevations. Additionally we can use it for less conventional items such as custom pergolas and other structural supports.
